Text of Video: More than 2000 children receive emergency room treatment every year for injuries caused by inserting objects into electrical receptacles. Over 70% of these electrical accidents occur at home, with adults usually in the room. When you’re checking your electrical outlets for safety, don’t forget any power strips you may have in use - in home offices and dens for example. In this video you’ll learn about the Safety 1st Power Strip Cover and how it can help keep curious little hands safe from injury. It adjusts to enclose the entire power strip, and if you prefer, it can even be wall mounted. Here’s how to use it: Unplug the power strip. Separate the inner and outer power strip cover halves by simultaneously pressing in on the round tabs on both sides of the outer power strip cover half and sliding the two halves apart. To put the power strip in the power strip cover, pull the top of the cover off by holding in the two slotted tabs located at the end of the power strip cover by the Safety 1st logo. Place the power strip inside the cover making sure the power cord is extended out of the designated slot. Put the lid back on and snap it into place, leaving enough room to plug in your electrical cords. Slide the power strip cover back in place and plug the power cord into the outlet.
